yeah we are up to our butt in drifts east of springfield. Working up the courage to get out there and deal with it. I hope the plow driver has learned something and doesn't plow my road completely shut.

Plows are hanging to the Interstates and Numbered State Roads 19 and 100, 94 here, Letter roads will come later where we sit. Maybe in a couple days.
Will be drag blading driveway this morning should we get a little open sky sunshine, is hovering in teens here where may see low twenties some point. Have Ice, then Snow then Sleet and ice then more snow and drifting with harsh winds. Measured four inches on front walk that did not blow off but does not include first ice load. Rear patio is drifted close to a foot.

Doesn't do justice, will be a Cold Ride where it sleeps gently inside my shop for now. Old Deere Blade is a 9' wide.

The 'trick' I learned decades ago was to move the snow away from the county road ahead of my driveway. That way very little 'road snow' gets dumped onto MY driveway. Always humours me to see people 'split their driveway 50/50' then county plow truck comes by and dumps their snow back into their driveway.......doh !

I bet you could push up a pile with those chains and the blade turned backward.
I used a borrowed 9' JD blade behind my 7040 which was nice with the heat and m/l sealed cab. I've been watching for years for a similar blade. Pushing my luck I keep reminding myself because we haven't had significant snow in years. You are well prepared, nice job.
There is/was a 9' JD 6 way blade with 2 cylinders for sale near here for $1500 but upon inspection the main beam was broken and ax murdered back together, I think the 7040 would kill it. |

Wish this one was Six Way, Pin Type 88 series. PITA to switch and too close to tractor to angle much at all. May have to take it back off and turn blade backward as loads not self clearing today. Snow from 4-12" depth across upper drive in drifts, thick Wet Snow, got a path clear. Made a run down the drive, Drifts over 18" and suspect up to 24" as came over halfway up front tires, one path where still 20 degrees and hands got too cold. Break until warmed back up. Will likely drop and rotate blade 180 around to Back Drive the snow. Really need a Snow Blade set up on loader.

My 7060 with 10 foot blade attached to the front sits in the barn ready to go but so far not needed! Snowstorms have gone north and south of us!

I tried to follow the science, but it was not there. I then followed the money, and that’s where I found the science.
