I don't know the back story. Was this way when I bought it. It took a while before I realized it was extended. Whoever did it did a pretty decent job. I think they did something different with the bin loader elevator side as well. My elevator is inside the bin and I think OEM had it on the outside. Not sure on that one. Had trouble with left side final axle nut coming loose as Mack said would happen when overloaded LOL.
After looking at it I think the bin extension is moved to the outside of elevator VS inside of elevator.
