Hello all, looking at possibly purchasing this 7050 from a neighbor. From all the things I've read up on, this is 1000 rpm only? No possibility of getting 540 rpm? TIA

1000 RPM was STANDARD and 540/1000 was an OPTION. Could be either one. Look at it and know what you're looking at.

Yes 1000 rpm only
My baler is 540 that's why I'm interested in tractor. Never used a 1000/540 adapter. Thoughts? |

I never liked another six inches of length on the PTO shaft being used when the tractor is expected to be turning alot while using the PTO.

Yes, I noticed the crack in it. Not sure if it would be an issue. It's been used a few yrs like this I'd say

I know it is possible, with used parts, to convert a 1000 RPM only shaft, to a 540/1000 on later 7000 series tractors. I don't know if that is possible on the 7050 or not.

Internal PTO parts can be harvested from any 7010 thru 7060 or 8010 thru 8050 and used in a 7050. It's not a one hr job to harvest the parts and certainly not an hr job to install the parts, but it can and has been done many times over the last 40 or more years.

Appreciate it Dr. Besides the pto dilemma there are some other issues I've found. He's gonna have to take way less than 5k

depending on the baler, you may be able to flip the gearbox to make it 1000
I have had John Deere round balers, and they all could go either way I think my old Vermeer could also best to check yours

Did you purchase the 7050? What other issues did it have? I might be looking for a replacement engine for my 7060. |
