I have a Walmart Hyper Tough orbital sander that needs a new Hook and Loop sanding pad. The dang sander is only about 1 1/2 years old but out of warrantee,,,!!! It attaches to the sander with 4 bolts. I have looked in Ebay, Amazon and Walmart.com with no luck and since it is most likely a china born part,,,may be nonexisting,,,??

Can you make the needed part? I've seen home made pads made out of all sorts of materials. hard closed cell foam rubber seems to last longest. Just get some tape style h&l and attach to your home-made pad...

I've bought 2 or 3 from TEMU for my old Dwalts. So far 2-3 years of abuse, er, USE..... NO problems. They also had OK prices on qty bulk packs of pads. FYI , if you use one of those big rubber erasers on the disks ,they last a LOT longer.

Check out Buckeye Tool Supply ( www.buckeyetoolsupply.com ) under the Power Tools & Accessories category. Just happened to order one for a Black and Decker 5" recently. About $13 with shipping included and fit great. Can search by model number or part number. Found the pad part number for the sander model on a replacement power tool parts site. Can't remember which site.

Many Thanks for all the suggestions,,!! It seems that each Mfgr has their own 3 bolt or 4 bolt pattern to anchor the pad to the machine,,, I removed this sanding pad and aam going to go to the different big box stores and compare the bolt pattern on the Makita, and all the differen brands til I can match one to mine or get close I was just in HF couple of days and I bought their brand of a 5" sander for $16!!! I also loaded up on the 4 1/2" metal cutting grinder discs for ,,,,,,drum roll DIY Dave,,,,

HAY DJ I call that the 'Noah purchasing method' ! Buy 2 ( or more) at a time. It saves you money. Now you'll have 'stuff' on the shelf and won't have to make a SECOND trip into town. That saves on gas, time and '4 letter words' when you NEED something to finish the job at hand. One store will have a 75% off sale, so I buy 4 packages. I bought 1, get THREE FREE..and on ONE trip.

You don't need to find a replacement that matches- Just get a new one that's close, place the two back-to-back, use the original to match-drill holes, then mount it on. If it doesn't spin concentric enough, run it, and place the edge against your big belt sander 'till it does.

Well, Dave Kamp,,great (Thrifty) minds think alike,,They DO!! I went to the Cavern City on the hunt for a pad with close enough bolt pattern to match mine,, I measured Makita, B&D,Skil, Porter Cable, Craftsman, the yellow one,a And finally found a BOSCH that was within 1/8" of being a clone to mine so,,Ima gonna order some pads for that model Bosch and drill out the bolt holes just enough to install the screws and do as your suggestions,,, Many Thanks Dave and every one that helped,,,!!!

One other thing, why did it wear out? Most common cause is using clogged up paper that heats, instead of sanding. When the H&L gets hot, the little hooks burn off the tips, causing it to not grip the paper well...
