We have the ‘ol Suburban for sale. One potential buyer is requesting(almost demanding) NHR, replied back any ‘search’ or report such as CarFax or any other agency is the responsibility of a buyer. Is this a new thing? Buyers demanding a seller provide? I have used CarFax in the past, but was my cost.
I tried to follow the science, but it was not there. I then followed the money, and that’s where I found the science.

Dealer might provide that... NOT an individual seller..... I do 99% of my own work... Car Fax will tell you NOTHING about my trucks / cars.
Like them all, but love the "B"s.

curious what's a carfax or NHR(??) cost ?
say is $100, up the selling price by $500....
up here north of the 49th we have a 'vehicle package, $20 ' SUPPOSED to show previous owners, mileages, accidents and liens
I know of dozens of cars, vans, pickup that won't have accident damages on the paper as NO 'auto body' shop did the repairs.

I think the cost is $30.00 and up, depending on the company.
So far today, 4 different potential buyers have wanted a report, but all 4 want from a different company. So now, every buyer is told in no uncertain terms; they are solely responsible for paying for any report(s). They can see the VIN when they view the truck, and run the report they want, standing right by the truck.

I think it's a scam. They aren't real buyers they just want you to purchase their report.

Very possible, that’s why I tell them, they are responsible.

Took Jeep in for oil change , then got Car Fax saying I needed new tires , refused recommended service , brakes need replacing , cab air filter dirty (not replaced)
So tires are 1 year old 6 T miles on them , I did rear brakes 10 T back and replaced rotors then , cab air filter has 5 T and is carbon sheet inside (they said it was so dirty it was black).
Guess the sales gimmick now has long strings to fleece customers
