Had one of their trucks delivering next door yesterday. Driver had very loud music playing in the truck. Never seen this before. Oh well, hope he was at the right house.

Lots of delivery trucks with Fed Ex on them are contracted from private companies/individuals and a lot of the drivers they hire are not top quality. Amazoo is the same way. If they damage something on your property, good luck in getting them to fix it. They just pass the buck back and forth unless you hire Dewey Cheatham & Howe to sue them.

Very few actual deliveries by in house Fed Ex trucks and drivers around here.   Drivers around here have FedEx on their clothes, and it is a "uniform", but they are driving for and employees of a contractor.  I expect Fed Ex has then do that for the image.  The trucks have Fed Ex in big lettering with the contract carrier info in much smaller plain lettering, easy to miss when passing by on the road, most think it is an actual Fed Ex truck.

Think a lot of that is the difference between a IRS - 1099 and a W2 of is it a employee or contractor .

Have to say home delivery is pretty sad including USPS. We get neighbors packages fairly often. Guess they can't find good help? Thanks

I will NEVER ship anything with FedEx. If given a choice I won't have them deliver any thing to me either. Once my package was thrown out by a neighbors mailbox on another road with a house number no where near to my number. Also in my 50+ years of highway driving I've seen numerous Crash & burns of FedEx trucks.

This time of year they hire extra temporary drivers, I think they may have lower standards for them.

This is no chit, since we are talking Fedex drivers:  Just this past Saturday a Fedex truck came in my yard, the guy (with purple hair and nose/ear rings) gets out with the package. I was outside at the time so I said hey how's it going today? He says not so good, I ask why is that?  Then he says Well I accidentally filled up my diesel delivery truck with unleaded this morning, I might not have this job any more.  I said good luck with that, and off he went.  I felt kinda bad for him even though he looked like a drug addled stoner.

My brother did the opposite with a Volkswagen super beetle one time. $5 of diesel in the gas tank. Things would run for about 20 seconds then backfire and go dead. Smoked like crazy. Took the engine apart to rebuild and it was clean as a whistle. Then my uncle figured out what he did. They didn't think it was funny but I sure did.
