‘Tire Sensor Fault’ comes and goes. Sometimes will stay on for an hour, sometimes 10 minutes, sometimes all day. Would this be one of the sensors in a tire? Have this vehicle over 10 years, just started do this a couple days ago. All tires are at the proper psi.

I tried to follow the science, but it was not there. I then followed the money, and that’s where I found the science.

YES.. each tire has a sensor.... each sends a signal to the computer.. If the pressure falls below 20 psi( example) then you get the "LIGHT".... Each sensor has a small battery to keep it going. Your batteries are 15 years old... Possibly that is the problem.

Like them all, but love the "B"s.

We have an 07 explorer that did this. We replaced sensors and it still did it. A month or two later dome light would occasionally come on when driving due to the ignition switch getting bad. I replaced ignition switch and lo and behold tire pressure sensor fault never came back on! Asked a mechanic at the dealership about it and he saw the same thing once.

So many electronic boxes in the after 2005 cars, gets worse as move up in years as with our 2017 Exploder
Ford tech here noted are Seven in ours were four in you all’s and as of today 12 in newest. All dependent on power from a connectivity unit. You are lucky as to have a key switch, ours is Fob to Push button, a central ECM handles ours. |

Aren't all these computer controlled gadgets in newer cars wonderful when they start acting up?

If it was fun to pull in LOW gear, I could have a John Deere.
Real pullers don't have speed limits. If you can't make it GO... make it SHINY |

Another reason I reworked my '99 SD F250 and the '05KW, has only ONE ECM, has a small Rear ABS Module under the hood on the SD, the KW has one ECM and a ABS Module in the dash.

ABS=All Brakes Suck. the 2 things I own that had ABS when new have has the ABS control unit removed. I first became familiar with ABS systems in the 70s with the 121 standard. They were OK for the first year or so, but after that you never knew if you would have brakes when you pushed the peddle or not. That system probably caused more accidents than it prevented. When look looking at semi trailers I discard anything new enough that the brake controls can not be replaced with old style non ABS controls.
