in the manual it shows a reserve fuel tank for the 52 CA did Allis Chalmers put these on all years of CA I don't even see a location where that might be fitted thank you

Are you referring to the auxiliary tank that's 1 gallon? If so, that is only on tractors that were set up for burning low grade fuels. It was for gasoline and you would use it to start the engine, then switch over to distillate after warmed up (or whatever low grade fuel you had in the main tank).
There probably aren't very many CAs out there as low grade fuels were falling out of favor by the time the CA was being built.

I understand that distillate is a little lower grade than kerosene however it amazes me that all our jet aircraft are flying on kerosene goes to show you that older is better

It runs on distillate yes, but quite a bit lower horsepower for a spark ignition engine and way more pollution :( Even gasoline in the early 50s was only 70 octane so only a little more HP.
