I am not a Massey guy and didn't even know they existed until now, so I learned something. I hope you end up with it. Post some pictures on here either way, if you can.

Maybe it was ment to be. You can get a restored tractor for less then it would have cost you to restore it. Good luck.

Hopefully you get it back. Apparently it means more to you than to your cousin.

Congratulations on your "new" tractor. Dad always thought highly of the Massey Harris tractors although he never bought one. Back in 1953 he purchased a new WD-45 but the other contender was a MH 44. Hope you get some pictures on here of yours.

Massey has a long history.  I don't know when they first showed up in your part of the world.  I never saw it, but my grandfather & uncles has one of the early 4-wheel drive models with the engine that hung off the front.  As I understand it that didn't last long & was traded for a variation of the Challenger.  That was dark gray & not red.  The 4-wheeler got hung up in ditches among other things and the Challenger became the workhorse & powered the thresher.  I do remember it and had a hand clutch.  Glad you got it back.

Nice that you got your tractor back. All you had to do is keep waving at the auctioneer. Thanks for the picture.

The prototype Wallis tractor that would become the Massey like your grandfather’s, was built in the shop I work at. In 1911.

I'll bet that brought a smile and almost a reason to celebrate if you need one.  That's always a big hurdle and it's got to be downhill from there.
