Mikez ,seeder will be next in may some time. Will probably need spraying at least once or twice before then tho,harrows redistribute the residue,level off the furrows from last season and bury weed seeds. After a rain or two its nice and flat and stubble broken down.

Wheat on wheat,…20 +years ago used to grow small amount of lupins(think soybean type plant) and some canola, but i gave that up and find continuios wheat the most profitable and easiest. Most farms around me are 3 to 4 times the size,what you guys call bto,s. They are running the latest biggest stuff, i run a couple of 1980s green stiegers as the main big tractors,have 3 allis ,7060,7040,7060(with a 7080 being restored to help)doing smaller jobs ,spreading ,spraying,harrowing,or whatever. Three R series gleaners and 2 old macks take the crop off.

JPG, Thanks for sharing your great photos & wheat info. Seems most of your tractors are older proven/reliable mechanical engine/driveline types - no ECUs? Are your Steigers CAT or Cummins hp? Guessing they pull (air-seeder) bars & bins or grain drills?
I briefly viewed online for your area, might you grow Scepter or Mace wheat varieties? Which Gleaner R models do you run ~ deutz air cooled or Cummins?
Here in the USA, uncontrolled Volunteer wheat has potential for disease transmitted into a new crop. What issues, if any, does your paddocks(fields) have for continuous wheat?

JPG, that is great drone? photo of your Steiger / air seeder - thanks. Guessing each of seeder's seed tube towers is about 10'~3 meters? If so, then maybe it measures 80'~25 meters width? I found this online link to a 2022 WESTERN AUSTRALIAN CROP SOWING GUIDE. I enjoyed reading it to get a better perspective. Thought others forum members may enjoy it too? You are growing Chief, as this guide list Chief CL Plus as gaining planned percentages back in 2020 while Mace declined (table 1)?
To quote page 8, Variety Classification:
"Wheat Quality Australia
(WQA) rationalise the Wheat Variety Master List with
annual reviews of varieties that are more than 10
years-old and which have accounted for less than
0.1% of deliveries over the previous four seasons. In
2021, the varieties Binnu, Clearfield JNZ, Clearfield
STL, Endure, Tammarin Rock, Yandanooka and
Zippy are to be removed from the master list,
which means they will no longer be deliverable into
their respective wheat classification segregations
beyond 2021 and instead will only be deliverable
as feed." So is there any sell price discounting, if a non master list variety's grain is deliverable as feed only?? How does Grain Merchandisers know what variety you're growing? Are you required to show seed purchase documentation when you deliver grain after harvest?
