This is probably going to sound like a another broken record but l did spend most of yesterday afternoon reading past post & researching this, but l,m thinking about put a 426 in my 8010 awd. Main concern is bell house area, it looks like flywheel, torque limiter & pieces except for the cluch disc are different, rad & hoses, exhaust< air intake and a few other things. Agco parts show different part # between 8030 74035834 and a 7030 74028149 flywheel ? Will a gleaner 426 eng oil pan clear the fr diff in a 8010 ? Thanks Dave

Why wouldn't the 426 pan fit the 8010 chassis? Isn't it the same throughout the 8000 series?

I put a 7030 engine in my 2wd powershift 8010 2 yrs ago,had to change flywheel, got one from countryside tractor, make new hole in hood for exhaust, tweak radiator hoses a little.
Added a fuel shut off cable, reused throttle cable. I didn't need a working a/c,as it is my feed mixing tractor |

I think you would be happier with a 5.9 cummins swap. We did the swap into our 7020 powershift and the tractor is pretty awesome. Make sure its a 5.9 out of a commercial application, not a truck engine. Ours came out of a gradall.

Thanks guys for the info, I wanted to go 5.9 but tuff finding a 12 valve here in Ontario, I priced a adapter witch was around $3000.00 us then almost another 40% because we live north of the border, then throw in a flywheel & a few more pieces it looked like it could get pricey, Thanks Dave

8010 PST's have a lighter duty transmission than 8030-70's, so beware that a HP increase and more ballast isn't probably a good idea. If everything heavy is done in 6th gear, shouldn't be a problem as that is direct drive.

If I was you I'd fix the 301, or put a 24 valve 5.9 in it. No one seems to want them, and the VP44 fuel pump has an excellent governor in it. I understand the expense of the conversion completely, but I will guarantee your fuel consumption will drop and it will start on the first revolution of the crank when its -10 C. No 301 I ever saw starts as well, for some reason every 8010 I have been around did not want to start worth a crap, yet my 200 fires right up in same conditions, that kind of confuses me....you put a 426 in it and it going to use considerably more fuel.
What is wrong with the 301 in it?

There is an amish guy one road north of me who usually has lots of 5.9's for sale or whatever your looking for. Last time I was there he had 2 brand new 19liter cummins sitting there.
