I think it went for $13000. Seems to me more of the FWA parts were missing on the auction.

Looks like it was originally an industrial. Does anyone else out there have an industrial version? This one would look neat restored in yellow.

The tractor appears to me to be almost beyond restoring but that is me. I am sure it could be done but how much time and dollars? What a shame some tractors had such a poor home.

Yes he did pay $13,000 for it. My friend Bob Vanderploeg was at that auction in Idaho a few years ago and remembers when Gary bought that over the phone. As he was leaving that auction, a guy came up to him and said he knew of another one in the area and asked he would be interested. About a month later Bob traded another 2 wheel drive tractor for it and is now in his collection. Had front and back duels and a factory cab was was usedd on his farm everyday on a tub grinder.
Let me put it this way. What he traded for it, he was in Chuch every Sunday for the next six months.................. but the other owner was happy with the deal. Some guys have all the luck.
Thought I would share.
Take care, Darryl

I didn't know that Allis used some Simms (Minimac) pumps until I bought this engine. The book has all the part numbers etc. so it is factory. This engine was on a water pump and has less than 100 hrs. It is a 3500 MK II with the 7080 injectors. It's getting an intercooler and going into my 220. I was told that this injection pump was used on the engines in the big loaders.

If it were me I wouldn't run anything more than 150 hp out of it on your 220 unless you plan on tractor pulling. Why risk ruining your 220's rear end? Just me though.

they also used the Simms pump on early L combines with the 301 diesel. I had to replace the eng block in one of them, there isnt hardly anything the same as a 301 with a roosa master pump. the second one we replace the complete eng as the bypass oil filter blew its seal and ran all the oil out, operator couldnt see it until eng locked up. |

What you guys talking about? That tractors cherry yet... Just a few bolts to put the fenders on and a drive shaft and a couple rattle cans of rustoleum and she'll be good for the fields again... and maybe about another 10-15,000 to make it look and run like new. Well, the cherry part is one of them cherries that already been ate by the bird an the stem still left hanging on the tree. 6-7thou would be a more realistic place to start |

Say, Darryl, as a fellow washingtonian AC fan, would you be interested in showing me your equipment next time I make it up your way? I have seen some of Bob's over the years, but I assume his collection is pretty large. I'm in Seattle a lot now, but the family farms are in skagit.

I honestly believe that would be a record high price for a 220fwa when all fixed up. It is cheaper to by a good tractor than one like that and spend tons of money fixing it up (in my opinion).
