Parts books show 40 x 6 as standard steel for the rears, and 24 x 4 for the front. The WC shares the same size. The front spindles are the same size as the WC, when equipped on rubber, but the front rims are 15" diameter instead of 16" .  They made the difference up by using a smaller 15" rim blank on the larger bolt pattern style hub.  So the long and short of it all...YES, WC steel will fit and function just fine. As far as sales on your side of the pond, I cannot help you there, but maybe MR. Mark Everett could point you in the right way.
