But lots of fun to shoot! I've got a few Dan Wesson magnum revolvers in .357 and .44 with various length barrels. I LOVE these because you can change the barrel in a couple of minutes, from 2" 4" 6" 8" 10" 12" and 15". I don't have any barrels in 12 or 15, but I'm still looking. VERY accurate in my handloads. I also smelt my own bullets too. It's a great hobby! IF I think of it Capn, I'll have to get a pic of shooting mine at dusk...

Theys a lotta fun at dusk. But I do like my black powder revolvers a little more. Much more fire and smoke
Great photo. Shows how I managed to burn my support hand once. Just once Edited by plummerscarin - 27 Dec 2023 at 10:15pm |

You'll certainly do that... and if you take it hunting, you'll kill, skin, and cook it in just one shot! They're not particularly good for night combat... you blind yourself, and the whole world knows where you are... but they're fun.

Very good pic.
Want to take my Colt 1860 army out and shoot it at dusk. I have a real one and replica. Won’t shoot the real one. Did you video this or get the pic at just the right time? |

Great pic! My buddy burnt his glove through, not keeping his fingers away from the cylinder gap area when shooting my Ruger Blackhawk. That pic shows why...

Ted, do you shoot nickel or blued Guns? My in-laws have a nice collection of the pistol packs in most of the large calibers. The blueing is the most impressive part of them to me. They almost look like they’ve been dipped in dark purple Coke bottle glass. I’ve never seen better looking blueing on anything else.

Bill, I have both. I agree, the blueing is something special to see on these guns, NOTHING compares. I am glad that I was able to buy these Dan Wesson's back a bunch years ago. They have gone up in price so much that it's scary. Probably the strongest handgun ever built. They really look weird when you have a blued frame and cylinder and a stainless barrel attached. But they are FUN to shoot! And I might add, VERY accurate.

My .357 does the same thing. Pretty much all wheel guns do. I think it looks kinda cool.......

Had two Ruger Redhawks, one 7 1/2" in Blue and a 5 1/2' in SS, heavy and hard to recoil control. Went back to Semi Autos for Return to Battery second shot potentials, as well Lighter.

Ted, didn't realize you were into guns that much. I like Dan Wesson stuff even though I don't have any. I do have a F.A. 454 that is a handful to shoot though! Guess that's just one more reason I need to get up to your place.
