When I was young, Campbell Soup had beef and noodle, and noodles and ground beef. I call Campbell’s every now and then jack them up that they need to make those again. Another thing I can’t find anymore or crown pilot crackers. They were about the size of a pop tart. Progress.

I saw something about oysters today and thought, "I need to get some oyster soup/stew" ... guess I better not get my hope up.   Thanks for the warning.

I just get the Progresso Clam Chowder - then throw a can of oysters into it and a few diced potatoes . Makes a meal .

I can’t figure why canned soup used to taste so good and now taste like crap.

They've removed have the good stuff, cut down on the salts and  replaced them with 'reconstituted water' .
I'm also betting the can 'portion' ( amount) is smaller than years ago.

What I'd like to know is WHY don't ALL cans have 'stackable' lower rims !!!! Soup cans do, but beans don't. grrrrr, try stacking them 3 high !!

Well your reminding me of my wife, as she has had a go round or 2 with Cambells over the years. The first was some recipe Cambells had back years ago, that was well liked here by the kids ( I don't remember what it was Wink  so must not of been my favorite, or most hated LOL). But she could not find the soup called for, so she wrote a letter ( so you know it was back there in time ). They sent a letter back with coupons for the new improved replacement.  But the local store did not want to carry that flavor, which was another war. But having a good head for cooking came up with a work around of some kind.

But the real take away was there are about 4 times more flavors of Cambells soup than any grocery store has on the shelf.

Stackable cans. You’re right Jay B. I haven’t measured cans just yet, but the original Allis oil filters measure 3 7/16. I would like to have a can with no ribs and painted orange. Then slap a sticker over it and slip it over the new filters. It would give a new filter the old Allis Chalmer’s look.

Wife used the last can of oysters we had to make oyster stew last week. Now I can't seem to find any more in the stores around here. Local market near the farm has fresh oysters but they are $$$. But I bet they will be a lot better.

What i hate is the amount of SODIUM (SALT) that they put in ALL CAN GOODS... WHY ?  If you want the salt for flavor, you can add your own... No reason to have 700 mg in each can !
Like them all, but love the "B"s.

I agree Steve, finding ‘low salt’ or ‘no salt’ versions of many canned goods has become nearly impossible since Wuhan Flu.
I tried to follow the science, but it was not there. I then followed the money, and that’s where I found the science.

Because the stuff they put in the cans is flavorless crap and salt is the only thing that makes it desirable to most people’s tastes.
