2000 mono frame plow.

   Just bought a 2000 5 bottom hydraulic reset plow have a few questions I will be going through it this winter  anything in particular to watch for seems tight everywhere I could  wiggle.

1.  What is difference between 386 and 387 bottoms 

2. Are they interchangeable 

3.  Are other parts for these available if needed?

	I think the 387 bottom is the only one with parts available, as for plow parts themselves, I don't know. I have 2 of the 2000 plows but mine are just the trip beam.

	This is going back a long way - but I THINK the 386 was the short wing high angle moldboard that, if set properly, would leave the field level without seeing a single plow ridge - the 387 was the long wing and would leave the distinctive ridge of every moldboard - they were for different type soils. They used the same shares - 14"-16"-18" in std and economy and deep suck style plow shares. I don't think many parts are available - Herschel used to have a chart of AC plow parts. ( I remember at the LaPorte plant seeing them polish the moldboards by hand - mounted on a long wooden handle and mating to a large grinding/polishing wheel one at a time) . Many moons ago the Dealer in 60's would demonstrate 190XT's and out plow everyone with a 5-16 semi-mount before the Monoframe. He put 14" blades on the 16" 386 bottom and found the draft load a gear less. Worked in our soils. On the other hand some used 18" on a 16" to be able to leave the desired results.
