Too much paint, looks like a drive by shooting. I'd pass on that one just because of the paint job.

Is that a 292 chevy? I can't tell what kind of engine it is from the photos. Also, does it look like the frame has been lengthened? If did they just cram that engine into the 4cyl engine's spot? Something just doesn't look quite right.

I'll bet they painted the tractor in one piece, sheet metal, wheels and all.

Also, I would have expected it to look like a 45 diesel, what did they do cut and add to the frame rails? The steering box is still out front of the grille so something is wrong.
Sorry Hurst, I first missed your post. You and I are thinking along the same lines. Edited by Claus - 21 Dec 2010 at 1:16pm |

Got the D hood and guage cluster.Probably didnt know the frame lenght was the same and spliced in.Not a Chevy, manifold wrong side.Manifold looks wrong for a 230-262 gas. If he thinks it's that valuable,he should keep it.

I looks a lot like a Continental, possibly even from an early Oliver 70. Maybe a "3 gear" from a Hart Parr 70. Hard to tell under those 20 gallons of krylon road-hazard orange.

This tractor is only 30 miles from me. It is owned by a Junk yard so I am assuming it is not a real top notch job. I believe the frame was extended. he also has a WC for sale with really fresh paint on it.

continetol or hercules motor the way the manifold looks.
Fenders are cut off and can anyone see the bat box?
Bet the grease, rust and old paint is still under the slap and dab job.

Paint, goofy engine conversion, bug eye headlights. even the wide front looks like it had a plate welded across the frame rails to hold it together. if there was every one not to save, this would be it.

Can't tell for certain from details other than the manifold and carb location, but it LOOKS like it might be a Hercules JXLD, or one of the slightly smaller ones. If so, well, that's a heckuva horse... 331ci long-stroke six... a true industrial brute... but flathead, rather than valve-in-head, and quite a bit heavier than an AC engine.

I've never seen a tractor painted with a paintball gun before.

Rare, from the definition of being 'incomplete in finishing, or undercooked'...
