Anybody ever add a hydraulic motor to their post hole digger. I want to mount my digger auger on a front end loader. I know nothing about size or requirements for a motor that i would need. Is this a sensible thing to do, any ideas?

What you need to know is your tractor's hyd system. Flow rate (GPM) and pressure(PSI). Then go to Surpluscenter.com's website, and search for the hydraulic formula page. Plug your GPM and PSI and the desired rotation speed of about 650-750 RPM, into the appropriate formula(s) and you can figure out the motor size that will work best (displacement of the motor). You will have to figure out the mount and shaft size, too.

I used hyd motors on several applications here, one on a grain cleaner, one on a field sprayer, one on a out bound grain auger from a grain bin, and one on a post auger like you want to do. I don't remember how I figgered out what motor was needed, but all worked good. If you are running a 7000 series tractor you can adjust the flow rate from that lever under the seat. and like said above, you have reverse!
