My SD250 I bought new in '99 is now officially 24 years aged, cab has typical corner and rocker rot these developed, bed is Trash.  Friend of ours is a Body Shop operator and has access to patch panel and repair panel catalogs where as with my old KW I am seriously considering taking on a rehab of the cab as new is just Out of the Question.  With doors(All Four as is Ext Cab) Right Fender and some small parts can be in for less than $3000 in parts, rear window will need replaced as was the single glass slider with seals for that failed thus the corners corruption, will likely go Simple solid window.

7.3 is still strong after 340,000, trans is a replacement at 295,000 and may need gone thru maybe not.  Have a axle seal will not hold in front end and need to rebuild the Clutch Ltd Slip rear diff.  All in all the chassis is still solid, so to myself stripping this down and rebuilding is still the best choice.  Need a small Flatbed for farm use anyway.

If you got the time, not many other projects, and good health.... you can save some money.. I enjoy projects, but have many that only take a few days or 2 - 3 weeks... Im done working on 12 month projects... too many other things to do.

Putting a clutch in the tractor , rebuilding an old 15 ft batwing, rebuilding an old 18 ft car trailer.... these are more my speed these days !

no brainer to me.... where else can you find a $5000 solid truck that's 'road ready' ???
wished I'd kept up with oil spraying my '97 F150(got lazy...paying the price now). Ultra rare model.. reg cab, sht box, 4.6 v8, XLT, < 100,000 miles on it.

I'd buy a southern version tomorrow IF I could.....

Do have to reseal Internal PTO and Clutch the 180, Engine OH is being put off yet again.  Need a functional Pickup more than that OH as the 180 is still functional.  Inflation is flat out killing my projects.

Wanted to share, have ALSO bought a Dash Cam for the two trucks and likely the Wife's exploder, MAYBE the Motorcycle when we take trips in or on those.

Decided on a Cobra pair, a series 200 for the forward facing and a hard wire rear view EV HV1 that will be permanent on the KW, likely Rt Rear Sleeper Corner so I can spot those that hide/Pace out of mirror view.  These days almost pays to have a better dash cam for the idiots that pull crappy or just ignorant stunts.
