Anyone near this dealer? Tractor there that I would like to look at, but over 300 miles away. How do you buy tractors that are that far away? Do you buy them sight unseen? Really interested in this tractor, but don't want to drive that far. Any help would be appreciated. rrhead(SD)

I've never bought a tractor at Scott's, but have bought several new skid loaders, and tons of parts over the years. I've always found the guys there to be very honest and trustworthy, and you always walk away feeling good because they treat you so well, they really appreciate the business...and every time I get really stumped on something I'm working on the guys in the shop take good care of me also. I'd never hesitate to recommend them.

To bad you didn't ask 3 years ago, I went to college in P-ville! Unfortunately I'm nowhere near that now or I'd help. And I don't even have any buddies there now either, they have all graduated too, bummer...
I don't know either way, but if I had to guess, I'd say its probably a reputable dealer, small town atmosphere and all. Good luck, let us know how it turns out.

I bought my AGCO tractors from Scoot. Good people all around. They'll be honest with you on condition and are fair on the price. Their all good but I like to work with Brian in parts and Harold in sales. I'm about 60+ miles from them.

Byron, That's exactly who I like to deal with also. In over 30 years of bringing this old stuff home I don't think I've ever met a counter parts guy is nicer to work with that can hunt the old stuff down like Brian can. And he's more than happy to do it, some of these places you go anymore if it's old they couldn't care less and won't lift a finger to help you find what you need. And Harolds a heck of a nice guy as well. I'm just down here about 16-18 miles south of Scott Implement.

mtj - Top to bottom their good people there and I wouldn't be afraid to talk to any of them. Mechanics, truck driver, all of them are nice. A few years ago I was afraid they'd get NH tractors and now I wish they would so I could deal with them. I'm anti-AGCO now with the dropping of the orange.
If you want an honest opinion on equipment it's tough to beat Harold. |

I just went through this situation last week. I found a 7060 I wanted to look at. After checking with folks on this board and determining the dealership is well thought of I drove 325 miles (including about 3 total hours in Chicago traffic) to take a look. I wound up buying the tractor and believe the dealer was very accurate in his description of it, but there is no replacement for a firsthand look. I know of people that have bought sight unseen but I think my time was well spent taking the time to look. Hope this helps and good luck!
