So too all those tiny little tidbits of information won the hard way in wrenching on machinery, generally took days to figure out and now takes days to pop back into my head in those oh Yeah moments.

Ever notice how much more you drop things as you get older? It happens more often and they always fall all the way, way down there to the floor and get harder to see as your eyes get older.

Or, you drop that slippery bar of soap in the shower 2 or 3 times before you get a grip on it!

Now if I drop something small on floor in shop the granddaughter's both go get a magnet and tell me they will get it for me. Now they both want stronger ones to try to pick up bigger wrenches ,

He who dies with the most toys is,
nonetheless ,still dead.

the 'golden years' are not for wimps.

I learned my lesson on using a magnet to pick up tools, thought instead of crawling back under the truck to gather my tools Id just use the big magnet and take them to the bench in one big haul on the magnet, well for the next several jobs that had any metal shavings close they attracted metal splinters till I figured out what I had done, then a couple waves with the demagnetizer all was good but dang those shavings were hard to get out. I no longer pick up the tools with the magnet unless I drop them where I cant reach em.
