See pic,
What does one think the rational for having the 3pt cross shaft? mounted below the holes for the sc coupler bar? Hole not big enuff for requred shaft dia, or to keep with 3pt spec???

Measure the difference between where lift is and where you think it should have been. Raise the plow off the ground. Subtract the difference and see that the plow will be too close to the ground.

Seems to me to do the bar dropped down as it is requires more parts than to utilize the existing hole. I am betting they thought the diameter of the bar had to be wider than the hole could acomodate..
Also when lookling at this, it appears the top link location relative to the plow bottoms cannot be adjusted. My understanding there is a "sweet" spot depending on the number of botoms, width of cut.

It was designed that way to be able to adjust the tilt on the tree point. Stop trying to over think it!

hmmmm I think I follow....the fact that SC lift arms went significantly higher up than the three point lift arms makes the difference?

isnt adjusting the tilt done on the tractor three point - i.e. dial up/down the lift arm?

For a friend I got a 3pt 3 bottom. The wear parts are shot. Am taking the 3pt portion and putting on a 80 series two bottom snap coupler I had all the wear parts on the 2 bottom replaced and never really used it. Now its got the opportunity...

to some extent yes... But by ROTATING the cross bar, the two attachment points to the 3 point are moved FORE- AFT so you can align the rear implement to the tractor..... that beings said, i think Dr is right.... you need to crossbar LOWER so you get more LIFT out of the 3 point.

Pat, I had a 3 bottom 3 pt that was like new condition that I sold in Lathrop about 3 years ago! And, typical, now I'm back in the market but like you looking for a 3 pt. 2 bottom

Scott , they are few and far between but just got a lead on one . Most I have seen are slat bottom plows for some reason. Also have seen a couple where they cut off a bottom. I am looking for one to put on the D15SII . I have a 3 bottom 3pt AC plow with a category 1 hitch. Just think it is a little much for the factory 3pt on the D15 . The tractor is big enough just wished Mr Allis would have put a stouter 3pt on it.

Pat, if you get to thinking about letting the 3 bottom go, let me know as I’d give it consideration. Use behind my kubota. We could catch up at a future meet. And I agree on the stoutness if the 3 pt. Think the same with my d27
