Had a recent trip to San Antonio, TX for work and found this AC motor in the old Pearl Brewery. The motor is connected to some type of York compressor / pump?? Glad to see they saved some AC history. The Brewery complex has been renovated into a shopping, eating and entertainment area.

I tried to follow the science, but it was not there. I then followed the money, and that’s where I found the science.

Nice! Thanks for taking the pics, posting and sharing. It mean a lot to capture these A-C moments to see Allis-Chalmers still hard at work on the job!

I think the amps is 25.4, not 254. So it’s more like 236 HP.

HP looks like 225 to me. Cool to see old AC motors still around other than in a scrap yard! Steve@B&B

Like the compressor, but don't drink the beer. Only the old timers did that around here.

most likely an early ammonia compressor that ran almost continuously due to the fact that it's a Synchronous motor probably to help in Power Factor Correction.
