the snap rings are in the case and just keep the bearings in place..
all you have to do is remove the oil pan, and look up at the shaft on the BACKSIDE and see the nut. You need some type of spanner wrench to get in there and back the nut off a few turns and the gear will start to wobble...
UNDER the tractor on the BACKSIDE of the shaft is a wheel bearing type cover... remove it and remove the bolt / washer / shim on the end of the shaft.. This bolt holds the shaft IN THE BEARING.. with the bolt removed, the shaft can be PUSHED OUT...
Move the shaft out 1/4 inch, then go back inside and you will have more access to unscrew the BIG NUT a few more turns.. when your out of room, PUSH THE SHAFT outward toward the wheel another 1/4 inch, then you can finish unscrewing the BIG NUT on the shaft.
The shaft might be stuck on the inner bearing.. Might take some effort to PUSH it out.
after the shaft is OUT, the gear will fall down out of the case.. then you can see the bearing cone, cup and the snap ring.
