This is for the felt rear seals on the pan of a WD45. I realize that I need to split tractor for the crank seal replacement but can I replace the felt seals(2) by loosening the capscrews and taking the pan off alone? Just asking for a friend. I know about the necessary crush, etc. but am trying to save a little labour regards, Ken McGregor

Oil pan gasket and the ARCH gaskets (front and rear) can be changed in chassis. Rear seal halves need the engine removed to replace them.
