I have a 7040 PD and had tractor split to replace the input bearing. The shop then advised that the scavenger pump should be removed and convert to the black belly setup. Now when the tractor sets for an extended amount of time or if it is colder out, oil runs out from above the pump upon start up. It never did this before. Everything works, transmission is not overfilled. Took back to AGCO dealer shop and they can not recreate the leak or tell me where it is coming from. Transmission is filled and checked from inside the cab. Any help is greatly appreciated.

yes it leaks from above the pump that is bolted to the front of the transmission housing. Oil starts  running from above the pump on initial startup only. It doesn't leak long, it pushes oil out at startup then it stops. I think it just leaks for a few  seconds.   I can plant or bale all day and level stays the same. When it sets in a heated shop it will not do it. When I took it back to dealer's shop, I was there at 8:00 am to start it and it would not do it. Did that for three straight mornings. They looked it over and couldn't come up with anything. Took it home and the next morning fired it up and oil was running down the housing again.

Could be the O rings on the dual pump. They get old and flat over time. More likely though is the 90 degree elbow that screws into the transmission case. It has a jam nut on it to secure the fitting in the proper location. Reach up in there with a 1 inch wrench and see if you can tighten it up.
