Had a couple extra keys made today. Always use the local lock and safe store. Cost $1.50 each . Went to Home Depot next and happened by their key display. Cheapest key they had was $5 . Kinda Krazy.

My D15 II has the original type INDAK switch/key like most all lawnmowers out there. Some of the early D15 tractors have the Briggs & Stratton switch/Key same as all early Allis tractors that use a key. Then you may have one with a generic replacement switch of unknown origin.

If it was fun to pull in LOW gear, I could have a John Deere.
Real pullers don't have speed limits. If you can't make it GO... make it SHINY |

Local businesses are much better on knowledge and service and a lot of times less expensive than the big box stores. My D15II has an aftermarket switch and only one key. Guess I should have a spare made just in case.

Probably a good idea Hubert . Guy at the Lock and Safe place told me he has people come in all the time with a key made at the big box store that won't work . Doesn't surprise me . Thanks

Had two spare keys made today at local locksmith.
Price has gone up to $4 apiece now. Both work, so I'm happy! Woman was in there having a key made also. Said the one she got at the big box store wouldn't work. I can believe that. |

Sorry Mike, should have said the last two keys were for my UTV. Original keys were for my D 15 and the new switch I bought from Steve B .

When I had the 'fleet' ( 4 D-14s and the forklift ) , I went to local Princess Auto and bought 5 of their 'heavy duty ignition ' switches. Went through ALL on the pegs, and found 5 with the same number stamped on the keys. Guy next to me was curious so I told him, these 5 all use the SAME key,so I only need ONE key to operate ANY of the 6 ! Yeah, probably silly but I have LOTS of spares...here ,there, everywhere.....
