After 6 months work, on and off, got the spreader done. Had a spot of sun so pulled it out with the 1953 CA for a photo op, then pushed it back in the shed before it rained. The lumber for the spreader box was cut out of a Douglas Fir tree that blew down last winter on the farm.

Very nice! I never thought I would find myself admiring a manure spreader, but it has happened now. Great job! That is a real nice looking CA, as well.

If it weren't for the last minute, I wouldn't get anything done!

Very nice. When the 110 was new, we had the only one our local dealer sold. I have lots of experience hauling manure with a 110 and a WD-45. I have 3 up in the barn that hopefully will result in one restored one some day.

The spreader makes the CA look small in comparison.

Still don't understand the logic on the front un-loader. But that is one nice setup!

Charlie, If you have a rear unloading spreader the tongue weight goes negative when the load gets behind the axle, lifting the back wheels causing less traction. With the front unloading spreader, the weight is shifted forward and you have positive weight on the drawbar at all times.

Very nice job, looks almost identical to mine. I see yours has the original jack on it yet, our did not operate well anymore so we added a jack to ours. Here is a pic of it, although not the best pic by any means. |
