Last summer I had a cam break in my 190xt series 3. It had the pressed fit gear style cam that broke at the retainer. I got a good cam and gear that came out of a maroon 7000 with the grade 8 bolt in it. I set the gears next to each other and they were identical pitch and size. I turned the engine over by hand and all timing marks lined up so I put it back together and set the valves at 15 thousands cold. The tractor runs now but doesn't quite sound the same it sounds more like my 7020 is this normal with the newer style cam? Is there any adjustments I need to make running the newer can? Thanks

.017" COLD. If it sounds different, live with it. You haven't been able to buy the old 190XTD camshaft for about 51 years and the cam you now have is what the parts counter person would sell you anyway. EDIT: 74022519 is the camshaft p/n from late 185-200-7000-7010. Which isn't totally accurate because the late 301's didn't have the teeth cut for the engine oil pump drive. Whatever the lobe grind profile is, A-C used it in any and all of the 301 engines.
