Son #2 is in the market for a new walk behind, does anybody know what brand is currently furnished with Tecumseh engines? Would prefer 2 cycle Lawn Boy, but no longer available new.
I tried to follow the science, but it was not there. I then followed the money, and that’s where I found the science.

I believe Tecumseh closed up in 2008 or 2009.

Been gone awhile, did not realize 2009!  We ended up buying a Troy Built for the Warranty.

A lot of it depends on the size of space you're mowing and how long you want the mower to last.  Not a fan of box store mowers, most are throw-a-ways.  If small space, there's the battery crowd.  Toro used to make 2 grades of mowers, one for box stores and a better grade sold by actual dealers.  If cost & space are not a big concern some homeowner's have gone to small commercial walk behinds.  The person who does my yard in town uses a Toro walk-behind that is borderline commercial, but he is able to keep rebuilding it with parts he's able to obtain.  If cost is a major concern, the box store variety will last a while if taken care of & not abused.

Son has a corner city lot, maybe .3 of an acre, flat no rocks, only hazards are the sprinkler heads if blades are set to low.
