D14 before serial #D14 19001 used a Delco 1111745
 later D14 used 1112593
 D15 tractors (series I & II) used 1112607
D17 tractors with an engine serial number below 17-19978 used a 1112584 and the later ones used a 1112693
If it was fun to pull in LOW gear, I could have a John Deere.
Real pullers don't have speed limits.
If you can't make it GO... make it SHINY

They are NOT all the same as Paul posted above. What's the number on your Distributor?
I have rebuild Distributors on our website if interested.

They are pretty easy to take apart and there is not much to them.  Rusty parts are easy to clean up with a wire wheel or glass beads.  This stuff just costs your time.  Less than buying another one.

what is different on the distributors that would make it impossible to install ONE model on a different tractor.......... say a D15 distrib onto a D14 ?
Like them all, but love the "B"s.

As Fred mentioned, the advance is different. They all will drop in (and probably work) but the centrifugal advance is different from engine to engine. Hence the different part numbers on the Delco tag. When a customer needs a Distributor for his or her Tractor, I always ask them what the number is on the tag. I then give them the same Distributor as an exchange.
