    Posted: 14 Feb 2022 at 5:12am
Anybody have luck with them?
I need a couple for tractors.
Oreilly’s is $189.00
I have no lunch with Napa batteries.
I looked at Walmart yesterday.
They have a 1 year$59.00
2year $79.00
And a 3 year for $ 130.00
The one years didn’t have many cranking amps.
Walmart had some value batteries that weren’t ever start. Tried a couple. One was good one wasn’t

I give then two thumbs up.

Otherwise I got a Batteries Plus batt in my JD cause it shot craps on a Saturday.

Thus far it has been good also.

I can't remember taking one back in for replacement/exchange.

Longest a Ever Start lasted for me was two seasons, gone to using NAPA batteries and AGM as well as better battery.

Everstart batteries sold by Wal-Mart are a lowest contract battery. Many vendors bid for their manufacture. None I've seen over the years are of the same quality the manufacturer's in house names offer.

I look for reserve capacity when purchasing starting batteries as the longer rated are usually better constructed. Interstate, and Deka branded are about the best in my experience currently offered on retail levels. Cost more too.....

You get what you pay for. Buying cheap may be the ticket for something you want to get rid of, however I'd spend a bit more for a quality name brand for things I use. The secret to long battery life is a properly working charging system and keep terminal and other connections corrosion at bay. The battery place near me sells primarily Deka batteries and I've been getting them to outlast the advertised life of them.
If it was fun to pull in LOW gear, I could have a John Deere.

I've had pretty good luck with the Everstart batteries. Much better luck with them other than Duralast or (newer) Diehard.

If you would like Deka, try ordering them through your local Lowes. I have bought several from them at about the same price as a Walmart battery.

They lasted as long as 'brand name' batteries for me but a LOT cheaper to buy ! Mine don't get daily use or checked at often,er ,seldom, ok, next to never.....
If they're going into a tractor that has a block heater, buy and install a battery warmer !! Nothing is harder on ANY battery than trying to supply electrons when it's freezing cold !

I have found through experiences that tractors need batteries rated commercial or agriculture. Vibration reduces the life of non rated commercial or ag batteries. When replacing batteries in my tractors or Skid loader I buy from TSC,Interstate or an Auto Parts store that sells Truck or Tractor batteries. We had an Auto Electric Repair shop until the owner and one man Army retired. He sold batteries and we would buy them there. He always said the life of your electrical system starts with your battery and connections. And he rebuilt a lot of alternators, generators and starters.

I cut up one of these 2by2 rubber floor tiles,2 layers on the btm, 1 per side. THAT battery lasted longer....maybe just a coincidence ?

Have bought a few from WM years ago, 3 years tops in automobile’s for me. On a side note, decades ago Farm & Fleet brand batteries were one of the best, not sure who their manufacturer was back then. Not much of a WM patron these days.
I tried to follow the science, but it was not there. I then followed the money, and that’s where I found the science.

I have WM Maxx’s in my Ford Diesel truck, first pair lasted a bit over 6 years before one got weak, had no qualms with putting another pair in to replace them. We have a WM 5 minutes from the house and have put their batteries in most all my stuff. The only battery I don’t get from them is the 6V Deka I use in the 6volt tractors. One of my favorite things about WM is that on the occasion I have one bad under warranty they don’t argue with me like NAPA, O’reillies, and Autozone do about if it’s bad or not.

My reason for asking is WM is close.
I almost quit Napa over a couple batteries.

This! Tongue Walmart does not care one bit as to what the battery was used in; you don't DARE tell NAPA that the battery was installed in a TRACTOR Angry

I've had Everstar Maxx in most of my cars for several years . always buy the 3 year batteries in my 2 suburbans they usually last a couple years, then fail. I take them back they test them and give me another new one. in my wife's van and daughters van have both had one for over 5 years. my tractors have 12 year old optima batteries in them. Walmart batteries aren't great but they have them in stock and are real good about replacing them.

I use NAPA in everything except my lawnmower. You gotta put them on a trickle charger overnight and put a deep charge into them. I have a pair in my 200 that are at least 6 years old. I had a Walmart battery in her blue van, one Sat it just quit while we were doing a farmers MKT in town, just out of warentee. NAPA brought me a new battery. Its still in the van, that's been 4 or 5 years ago.

I mainly use wal-mart batteries but I usually get the Maxx, their best grade and usually get  five to seven years service. I bought two of their value batteries a couple years ago, one lasted about nine months and  I waited around on taking it back for a couple months-well it was less than a week over the year-no warranty. My last of those cheap batteries.

Fleet Farm use to be the place to get batteries as no hassle with exchange , I use to use same 5 year battery in every vehicle and equipment `and just keep exchanging them as they went bad (if and when)
3 pickups with snow plows batteries would last about 3 seasons , dozer and backhoe about 2 years .
NOW they still exchange but they date the replacement battery with same date as one they replace so you get the replacement but not the extended warranty time.

I've been very happy with Motorcraft batteries, if they have the size and type you are looking for.  Their warranties are good too.

I have Everstart Maxx batteries in my D 15 and my old C 10 . Both prolly about 3 to 4 years old . Work fine . Did have a problem a few years back . New battery in my old C 10 would die after several months . I'd take it back to walmart and they'd check it , say yeah it's dead and give me a new one . This happened a couple times . Finally one of the ladies called a tech to check the battery and he said it has to be charged before you check it . He charged it and said it was good . Come to find out my alt wasn't working right . New alt and no more dead batteries . Thanks !

I started buying my lawn mower batteries from them. I could only get 2 years if I was lucky out of the 50.00 mower batteries from the parts store. I can get that out of a 20.00 from Wally World

Come to think of it my car battery came from Walmart. Benn in there 3-4 years now and so far so good

I am using the Napa battery- 6V- in my WD45. Has been awesome. Maybe 6 or 8 years old now and still starts the tractor every time. Used tractor today and started right up and was a real cold day. It is inside in unheated house garage so that helps a bit. I have had this unit since 2001 and this is only the second battery. First one was Napa as well so excellent in my opinion. Part of battery success is good starter, good cables and clean connections.

Nearly all batteries in the US are made by one of Three producers under someone else's Banding INSIDE the US.  Recycled Lead from the Viburnum MO Lead Mine company that is now the US LARGEST Lead Recycler.  ALL batteries in the Midwest end up there, Thousands of tons of lead per year reclaimed.  Acids are sold to Commercial users as too loaded with contaminates to reuse or be filtered.  Plastics are washed and sent to trash or that which can be is sent to recycling processors.

Sister had a new WM battery in her car almost a year. Car would not start one day so she took it to the car dealer. Dealer said it was the battery and she told them to put a new dealer battery in it. I'm sure that was pricey. Her husband takes the WM bad battery back to WM and demands his money back. Naturally they said no but we can replace the battery free of charge. He storms out and and will never buy one again. Yes, he's an idiot.

I have had one in my truck just over a year. Will see. I decided to give them a chance after seeing a battery comparison on YouTube and the EverStart came out as good or better as the more expensive batteries.
