Well,,I'm gonna have to take "The Fifth" again cause I am a few days older,,,,,, It sure lookin like I'm gonna need to get some dental work done even tho I ain't wantin to think on it too much,,I ain't scairt,,just don't want to dwell on it too long. Seems like I remember some of the "snowbirds" traveling to Arizona for their wintering and crossing the border to get their dental work done at some really good savings.!! A guy I talked to has been to Washington Dental Clinic in El Paso and they drove them across in their passenger van, took them to the dental clinic in Juarez, got the work done and then they transported them back to El Paso. Anyone else had this done,,????

Neighbor winters in AZ - last year had new upper and lower dentures with implanted locking gizmos put in . Dentist is a US citizen and lives about 4 miles from where friend winters in AZ .
Evidently dentist also has practice in US 2 days a week and then spends other time in Mexico . He said it was less than 1/4 cost he had gotten here for the same work . Thing is to get the implants it takes a longer time to get everything set up and done so you need a place to stay for a month or so while doing the full procedure . Going over some estimates on my own Dental and figuring out even with so called dental Insurance it's a real shady deal . Seems for a upper denture outfit wants over $2,500 and dental insurance says they will pay $883 , then to reline denture estimate is $650 and insurance will pay $250 I am suppose to pay rest .
Says to pull teeth- $220 but Insurance says normal cost is $160 - Insurance will pay $112 - and i am suppose to pay difference of $48 - but the estimate says I pay 30% and dental insurance pays 70% of bill |

On my tooth they done the socket in the jaw bone and it's 4 month till they put the pin in and that was $1,450.00 then you have the tooth made and I think it's about the same cost just have to wait 4 month for the bone to grow around the socket.

Back in the old days (1966) I was in the Army stationed at Fort Bliss (El Paso). We used to go to Juarez, but not for dental work.
Back to the subject at hand, yes dental work is darn expensive. But I am not sure I would go to Mexico.

Joe, I think I would talk to some people that have had dental work done in Mexico and find out how their experience was straight from the "horse's mouth." From what I have heard around here the dental clinics in Mexico do a better job that the rip-off clinics here. The Good Lord has blessed me with good dental health so I have only needed 2 cleanings a year by a young lady that is easy on the eyes and maybe a filling every 10 years or so, therefore no personal experience. I did have a 4 unit bridge on my upper front in 1966 and it is still rock solid though a bit worn.

My wife and i both got dentures. i think i got better service in mexico then the US. price was about 20% of US price. Affordable dentures in US was good but now sell low quality dentures. I actually know people who went to mexico with broken dentures bought in the US. the dentures were out of warrenty in the US but the mexican dentists still warrentied them. then laughed and said they were there lowest quality dentures made, they have higher quality for way less money!

going to get hung by my peers but the dentists in mexico often go to school in the us, the materials are pretty much the same all over the world and pulling a tooth is pulling a tooth. A lot of us dentistry is way overpriced and the dentists are only interested in pushing the newest most expensive treatment. How many of you still have silver fillings that were put in when you were a kid. They may not be pretty but they last forever. Got plenty of people that come being told they need a crown when in reality a big filling would work just fine for a thousand left.
The big problem in dentistry is the same as everywhere else; greed. I make a good living, get to play dairy farmer and there is money in the bank. Bought my first new truck in 17 years this winter. But too many of my peers are making 300,000 or a lot more and I just don't think it is fair to screw people over so you came have a mansion and a trophy wife. Joe, I time later in the week and I will do the work for tractor parts

Well, I did talk to a couple of dudes here in town who had their dental work done by Washington Dental Clinic in Juarez, Mexico. Them dudes ain't cute enough to give em a kiss on da cheek,,,but the dental work looks good,!! WDC has an office in El Paso that they use as a USA base as she told me that "some" insurances do pay for dental work done in Mexico. The two dudes paid for theirs out of pocket as the final costs were cconsiderbly less than US prices. Current prices are Extractions= $30 each! New Dentures (acrylic) are $275 each WDC does not make appointments as they service everybody that shows up. After register, they load you up on their van and transport you across to their clinic which is just a few blocks from border and get assigned to your dentist that will do the work, then transport you back to office in US. AND,,,for $30 a tooth,,,I ain't letting ole "Treble Hook" Shameless touch my mouth,,,,!!!

You should never pull a tooth with pliers. All you will do is crush it. Pry them out with a screw driver. And never use good whiskey when cheap vodka provides the same sedation. Save it for when you can enjoy it

The dentists don't have a union, but,,,,,,,most of them just follow one another and charge what they can. Yeah, that mansion, the diamonds, the BIG caddy or lincoln,,,,,,I don' t know about fur coats anymore,,,,,,,,,,,but!! HOW come you're so close to Mexico and I'm WAY up here......dang!! For $30 per tooth,,,,,WOW I think they charged more than that back in the 50s! Well,,,,git er done buddy,,,,,we don't want ole Shameless bringin any hooks down by you unless you're both goin fishin!!
