heres a picture of one I've probably had on here before, but not bad for a girl whose dad is a JD man.

Yep, there's a B! Another cute picture! Whenever that plow drawbar was on and we were going back and forth to the field, my younger brother and I would stand on it (one on either side) and hold on to the steering tube. Makes a great step for getting on and off the tractor as well.

Good eyes Claus. Dad and Grandpa bought the XT when it was a few years old after it had been traded in at the local JD dealer who was actually a good friend of grandpa. It came with an AC 5-16 semi-mounted plow. Apparently, the previous owner had a very hilly farm and had ordered the XT well weighted. It has inside rear wheel weights as well as the pie weights outside the rear wheels and liquid ballast in its 18.4x34s. Traction wasn't a problem but keeping the nose down was. He simply went to the closest dealer(JD) to buy extra bolt on weight in order to keep plowing. The JD dealer(Grandpa's friend) helped him out and apparently made an impression with his customer service. When the fellow was looking to upgrade a few years later, the XT and its plows got traded in for a bigger JD. His loss became our gain. I don't ever recall Dad lifting the nose plowing with the XT and her 5-16s. I do remember near the end of our farming days Dad had bought a rebuilt Oliver 1950 FWA. It was an excellent machine but I'll never forget Dad hooking it to the AC 5-16s. Once the plows sunk into the earth, the massive front end came up in the air and never touched down until he reached the other end of the field. We finished the field with him repeating his ride every pass. I had Grandpa's Oliver 1750 with its 4-16 spring resets. Back at the barn, the plows came off and went back onto the XT.
