My Son-in-law's HD5G with 2-71 DD could definitely benefit by having some sort of 120 VAC engine block heater; any recommendations will be appreciated.
Thanks for the help Smile

Block heater won't work but a tank heater and line from block drain back to thermostat area will , or a lower hose heater in that hose from radiator to water pump .

Google says this one is what you want.  Not sure where it mounts.

Like Coke, I prefer the tank type, just be sure to mount it vertical!Wink

I too prefer the tank type, I was just hoping that someone may have actually installed one and could give some specifics about it.

I ventured out yesterday and looked the machine over; the lower block drain is readily accessible but looks rather small. Not sure where to tap in on the thermostat housing area though.

The lower radiator hose looks to be the easiest but the highest wattage I can find readily available is only 600 watts. Hmmm... Confused
