Is Allis-Chalmers Energy going to keep it's name and logo after being bought out? I just looked at their website and could find nothing on them getting rid of the name or the logo?

I believe that will be up to the new owners; they could operate it as a seperate business , but I doubt it ; in the last quarterly earnings report there was mention of the next report would be from SEAWELL ;the corporate staff and BOD is gone or going ; I believe ALLIS CHALMERS is gone , but the name and logo could be resurected again to new owners ???? Who is hard to tell

The report i received a few weeks back stated that the newly merged companies will have a new name and logo. who knows this could very well be the the final end of the AC name.

I very involved in this "transaction". I've talked to Seawell several times and they are very quiet. The name and logo alone are worth a fortune, little lone the company and assets. That's why A-C energy is rising well past the bid price.

AC Energy grew by a lot of aquistions of smaller companies so I don't know if I agree about the name being worth a fortune. Their air drilling division competed against us and they did not even run under the ac name even several years after being bought.

I was just on Yahoo Finance and there is talk now on ALY,S talk forum that the merger is on hold now ; the shareholders and AC management are not happy with the terms Seawell now came up with ??? Also there is talk of them finally realizing of what a lowball offer Seawell shot them ; least the top 3 in ALY got bonuses this year !!! Who knows !!!

Correct. That's why the stock is way above the $4.50 offered by seawell. Lots of disgruntled shareholders who know its worth more and the offer to your point is all on hold. There is also a class action lawsuit going on because we know what the name and logo alone are worth, little lone the business. Stay tuned A-C isn't dead yet and it's still kicking. Going orange is going great. By the way, the A-C Energy employees are very hard working and they want to stay an independent company.

Too bad they couldn't engineer a way to get Gleaner out from under the stub nose dictator and bring the AC tractor back. I thing ag should be attractive now. Then they could proceed to "shut down" AGCO as it is currently being run in the US as I am sure all of the current AGCO dealers would fall in line.

I pray something like that could happen. It would be the closest thing to the old Allis-Chalmers you could get. I have confidence that if they could make a new ag division and make quality products it wouldn't take long for them to be back on top. I also agree that the dealers would go with it, especially the old AC dealers.
