What's a good replacement starter solenoid to replace the one that crapped out on my Series I D17 gas?
TIA

I just buy a quality solenoid at the local Auto Zone or NAPA ... Same solenoid used on older FORD cars and trucks... Not specific to tractors or Allis.

I bought one at Tractor Supply about a month ago. O'Reillys wanted $90, TSC was in the $20-30 range.

My one-seventy goes through one every 5 or so years. All came from AGCO. On my third one right now. Going to NAPA for the next one.

Yes, Agco does have them, too many!!! I ordered one from Agco, they sent one not correct one, sent another not correct, third one was the right one!!! Apparently they have used 3 different ones on 170 but have no way of tracking that by SN#. SO yes you can get one from AGCO but not necessarily the right one!!!!

Steve,I didn't say they made them. There was a time at least when what they peddled had to be of a certain quantity. That was my point and incorrectly assumed they would supply the correct application before that last post.
