Story time:

My dad loves Reba McIntyre. When his old horse died, he soon got a new female horse, BEAUTIFUL horse with very red hair. Yep, named her Reba. Here where it gets interesting. Turns out THE Reba is distant relation to someone in town, and actually came to visit. Very discreetly because the town would have went nuts. The relative knows dad, and knew he had a horse named Reba, but didn’t think to tell her for a while. When she did tell her, she thought that was so cool and thought perhaps she would come see the horse and dad. But she was pressed for time and really had to leave.

Yeah, would have been a better story if she came to the farm, but I’m not a liar. Might be a good thing though, that bitchy dang horse probably would have bit her!!

Since they originated in Scotland I would chose a Scottish name. Maybe Olivia, Sophia? Maybe not much help.

We had a Golden lab once. Her name was Jasmine, However being a lab, she would only answer to "Hey Dumba$$". We also used to have a Beagle whose name was Barney and he answered to "Fat Ba$tard".

well we got there and back today. she is a purty puppy. when we got there the grand kids of the lady selling the pups had all of them out and was playing with them! when the lady asked what we were gonna name it? i said "waumbalushus"...i got an interesting stare from her! lol  we told her we would watch her and maybe a name would come of it...and it did, her name is "Stormy". she has lots of energy and goes from one thing to another. she's a great rider in the car, and so far have no messes in the house. the other dogs aren't quite sure about her yet, and the cats really are not cooperating but are curious. we forgot how we have to "puppy proof" the house! i think she will be fine...it's just her first day here! thanks ya'll!

Congratulations! Goldens are a very sociable breed. That is where much of their energy is focused. IMO, the absolute best kids dog - Nanny, friend, and one of the “pack”! The more the kids, the happier the Golden. Very socially needy & Eager to work! They require x-amounts of FETCHES per day. No matter where you throw an item (your hand’s sent stays on item), it becomes their nose’s desire. They will always come back to you with that item & so proud of finding it that a “give” game instancely insues. Great dogs. Our passed Golden’s name was Buffy.
