Wait a second,  it might be the right fishing truck if you take the right gal with ya.  Just make sure it's got a 10% charge to get you to the pond, then find something to do when you wait for a ride after your done fishing. Wink LOL

Personally, I don't understand the logic of Ford marketing.

They have stopped making cars except for Mustang and will continue making trucks.  But the future vehicles will be electric.  Electric vehicles are much more expensive than gasoline powered vehicles and those are already overpriced too.

The average folks buying Mustangs and F150's are being priced out of the market.  The folks making the big bucks usually buy sports cars and luxury sedans, not Mustangs and pickup trucks.

Just my 2 cents....

the logic...
Ford sells 8X more  F series trucks than ALL cars combined...
Ford is in the business to make a profit...
'bottom line'... make/sell what the customer BUYS !!

I can get the real numbers from brother, but last year it was 8 times as many trucks than cars....
It makes sense to me and cents to Ford.....

The whole auto industry needs to remember Henry and his build a car the working man can afford. Wink Turning to google in 1.0002 minutes I get, LOL in 1920 the average salary was $3269.40 and a model cost about $850 ( dang old car dealer, even back then could not pin them down LOL ). Today it says average salary is $40,000 and F150  is anybody's guess as I heard many cars and trucks are selling for more than factory price as the need it NOW crowd has the credit. But I am guessing you could be a long time finding a F150 for less than $40,000 today.

And many of them won't even haul their trash to the landfill in the bed, they have to have an itty bitty trailer for that. So why have a pickup Confused
If it was fun to pull in LOW gear, I could have a John Deere.

You watch the WRONG DOCUMENTARY............. FORD lead the way with  PAY PER HOUR for his people... NIGHT SCHOOL FOR FREE to get a HS education...Automated lines so the guy had an easier assembly job.

-------------------------
In January 1914, Henry Ford started paying his auto workers a remarkable $5 a day. Doubling the average wage helped ensure a stable workforce and likely boosted sales since the workers could now afford to buy the cars they were making. It laid the foundation for an economy driven by consumer demand.

Here's a price history of the F150

https://www.thedrive.com/news/34333/heres-how-much-the-ford-f-150-has-increased-in-price-over-the-decades

People haven't stopped buying cars but Ford has stopped making them.  Ford markets what they want people to buy.  Of course they want to make fewer more expensive vehicles.  It's much easier that way.

That's the model for Tesla.  Market to the wealthy, sell them hyper expensive electric vehicles.

re: It's a wonder he lived as long as he did as far as the way he treated employees

And yet China is the World leader in making stuff off the backs of the Chinese in THEIR sweat shops...

and...
I've yet to see an AFFORDABLE e-vehicle that CAN replace ANY gas powered version. Please include total real costs for a 20 year lifespan if you think of one...

So i ALWAYS wanted a little car, but FORD stopped making them and FORCED ME TO BUY a F150 ???  YEA RIGHT..

PEOPLE STOPPED BUYING CARS, be cause they DONT WANT THEM... Everyone is buying a TRUCK, so FORD is DOING WHAT THE MARKET WANTS... thats SMART BUSINESS... Dont matter what YOU do with YOUR TRUCK... If you want to use it to carry groceries or a case of beer, thats fine... ITS YOUR TRUCK... YOUR MONEY!

I think that has all changed.  Luxury trucks(High Country or Ranch King) now compete against M-B and Audi.

Trucks used to be affordable.  They're still just simple body-on-frame vehicles with poor ride quality over rough roads.

Not a expert on Henry Ford but there where lots o worse place to work than at Ford in the day. Once he got things going cause he was poorer than most anybody here when he started. He decided he should build a car the workers building them could afford to buy. That is why I looked at price of car and wages in 1920. The model T cost a less than a 1/3 of the years wages of the average wage. Google says today $40,000 average wage how many car/trucks are under $15,000 today to get about the same percentage of wages s back then. But those who said nobody wants a plan and simple car without gizmos' is correct as well. But sure would nice to see for sure.

Was not saying anything about the current Ford company or any other. I suppose the union labor in USA car building plants can all afford $60,000 rides. But I sure don't see how I can, so I need to fix one of trucks sitting here and spent my money on getting them up in shapes. Wink As none have been run in salt from icy roads. But all have over 200,000 mile and need something.

Here's some stats on what people are buying.
~70% are crossovers, suv's and small-mid size cars
~20% are pickups
