If you just need for a short time usage you can bolt several layers of strap steel to limit side movement of arms. Weld several layers to make the same thickness as upper area. I did this on a 170 until I located Cat 1 blocks, just look nicer when factory blocks are in place

There is a place in Silver Lake MN selling some new ones for cat 2 on e-bay but they may have cat 1.

Dave, they are Cat II, sway blocks will stop the lift arms from moving sideways with either Cat I or II depending on which blocks are installed, only up and down motion.
Cat I blocks will be correct width for Cat I implements, likewise for Cat II being correct for
Cat II.
If you have Cat II blocks their will be no sideways motion on Cat II implement and Cat I implements will not hook up. If you have Cat I blocks on the Cat I implement will have no sideways motion but the Cat II will hook up and will have sideways motion.
As an example when using the semi-mount 2000 monobeam plow, a steerable tail wheel plow, I will use the Cat II blocks to prevent side motion to keep the plow trailing straight.

I have had good luck just removing one of the cat II blocks....I think that is why you see a lot of tractors with just one on. I have a set of Cat I blocks, but have never used them. Someone got a set of NOS ones from me a couple of years ago before I knew what they were worth :(

They store above the Cat II blocks on the tractor....some people might not realize they have a set already. |

Well, I just went out and checked. Don't have the category 1 sway blocks on my D17 IV. Must have been taken off at some point in time. Dave
