    Posted: 31 Oct 2010 at 10:22pm
I am looking for a Allis model C or WD/WD-45 to restore with a single front wheel set-up. I don't really need the tractor just the front end mainly. Can anyone help with this or know where I may find one? Thanks.

How about a C with single front wheel ,new front tire and new bearing on front just done fresh .Rest of tractor in nice .Rear tires look almost new, rims good.Sheet metal is nice from what I can remeber. You can restore . Its about 10 north of me. The guy is going to call me back with serial # and more imformation. No I do not have a picture right now and do not have time to get one unless someone was DEAD INTERESTED .The tractor is not mine. I do not think they made alot of C's with single front wheel.

AJ, if you connect on that, post a pic. I'd be really interested. Never seen a C with SFW. Welcome to the forum.
I didn't do it! It was a short, fat, tall, skinny guy that looked like me!

Bill, that's an impressive lineup, and it doesn't even include the C on steel.

The single front wheel on the WD with the bush hog in the ebay link has been fabricated.  It is not an original yoke; just in case you are wanting an original setup. Michael

Someone said there were only like 600 c's with single front wheels.  I guess I find that hard to believe as I have one and know of at least 4 others in the area.  Perhaps Colorado was an area where they were popular?  There were a lot of edible beans grown here and cultivated by small single front wheel tractors.

There's a SFW C sitting south of Lufkin TX at a tractor repair shop. The wheel is wrong so all that's there is the pedestal. the motor is stuck, the rear wheels are rotted off. The last time I askes he was down to $350 and he didn't want to part it out. You can try.

I have an original front yoke with a good wheel and tire ready to go if you have the steering set up for a factory wide front. The wide front and single front wheel used the same front steering gear box. If you were interested e-mail me at russellbrothersm@bellsouth.net and I will try to answer any questions. I also have an extra original yoke.
