I have an 8070 on the farm that has been setting for about 10 years. my uncle said it was giving trouble with the injection pump and he had the pump rebuilt and when he installed the pump he said the tractor felt stronger than it ever felt before. he started working it in the field and while he was running it he heard the motor change tunes. he unhooked the equipment and parked it. and there the tractor has sat for the past 10 years. My question is, does this sound like a problem that any body else has had? is it worth fixing?

Could the pump have slipped out of time?

Yeah, too vague to know. Get fuel in it and batteries and start it up to find out! Yes it's worth finding out.

8070's are a very good tractor in my opinion, I'd certainly try to get to the bottom of the problem. Could be something not too serious. Darrel
