Can anybody advise what models and what years used the metal hood emblems versus decals on the D series? I generally consider Terry Dean's Allis Chalmers Data Book as the the best resource for this type of question but his book does not seem to address it.

Metal name plates were used on D10/12's from 1961 until the end of series III.
Used on D15 series I and D17 Series II. Used on H-3/ HD-3 crawlers and I 60, I 600 and 615 industrial tractors.

Thanks for the information. I have a 1958 D-14 with them on and that was confusing me. I think someone painted the tractor and stuck them on. The fasteners do not look like the ones on my 1962 D-12

They must of started using them late in 1960 too. I have a Serial number 2701 D-10 which would be a late 1960 and it has the metal emblem on it too. I am sure it is original. It is an industrial tractor so that might be the difference

The 1961 models came out in the late fall of 1960 just like the car companies. Is the D10 painted Persian orange #2 with cream wheels?
