A little fire out the exhaust, but not terrible. Timing advanced a couple of degrees might cure that. A little more water and/or fuel might cure that. Don't know enough about the build to say any more. 10% slower gear would have helped on that pass, as the engine didn't stay up at the end.

Thanks Dr Allis. In pace pull (20mph) it works great. This was an open pull. I achieved 24mph. I am 301 cube. 500cc A-pump 3800rpm maxed out, 64x76x.91 turbo, water injection-12gph, ice water inner cooler. Rods, push rods, cam, head work done by FPV. A few other things done but nothing major.

What size is your cross over tube, do you have a velocity stack in front of your turbo??  Any methanol in your water?

Explain your intercooler system in more detail. I read the 12 GPH ( .2 gallons per minute??) but what is the intercooler specifically? A factory AC intercooler or an aftermarket brand?

   That is a damn nice pull, only a 301!!!   A 3inch pipe will flow twice as much air, I use a 3 1/2 .

Did you banjo the cross over so water mixes in better?

O.P.S. Heads, the 12 gph is my water injection. Im running frozen boost cooler with 800gph ice water. Im also doing some ice water cooling in my intake (another 800 gph) thats a long story to describe, lol but helps quite abit.

I dont know if you have room under your hood but a banjo is when you 90 the cross over towards the radiator then 180 it back, then down to intake, more pipe mixes the water better, thats also why I use 3 1/2 for all those elbows.

Worth up to 40 HP on the dyno according to my turbo maker.

Ive seen one engine the pipe went up front then down between engine and radiator then all the way along bottom of engine to the back, up again then towards front then down to intake.

Ive been thinking, with your intercooler that might atomize the water good enough????   Too bad its so damn hard and expensive to dyno these things.

Rules dont allow you to spike the drink???

So just more piping? My class is single fuel. Spiked water counts as additional fuel. not to say some don't do it. lol

I don’t think The longer piping route is not at all that important when you have an intercooler. It does help when you don’t have a cooler. As long as you have big enough pumps to keep the cores full and enough water shortest is better between cooler and manifold.

I've had good luck with Scheid Diesel High Output PPL legal fuel. Starts way easier and less smoke at idle.
