Well, dad has given up farming and has been sitting on entire equipment inventory since LAST fall . He thought he would put the equipment in the local "Farmers Exchange" periodical and sell them "ala carte", or would he be better off selling in an auction ?? Thanks

Private sale seems better on in-expensive equipment. When you get to the big stuff, seems finding buyers is tough.

I think if he has the misc stuff, tools, any other small rack items a sale may work to get rid of it, if he doesn't then the other may be better.

If you offer them at a reasonable price for a private sale and you don't need the cash right away you'll be better off. It will take awhile to fight the right person for many items. A crook AKA auctioneer is going to take 30-50% right off the top then start in with expenses.

If it was fun to pull in LOW gear, I could have a John Deere.
Real pullers don't have speed limits. If you can't make it GO... make it SHINY |

You could maybe start and try selling items on here. A lot of smaller farmers on here!

Yeah, I'd say on here first and then what ever is left, go on FB Marketplace. Stuff REALLY sells on there!
