Modirt, that’s a great way to put up small hay bales. So the 318v8, 4 speed trans, & chassis were originally a Dodge 2ton truck?

Gotta say, graduating high school in the early 70's, I was late to the party, but was never allowed into the muscle car movement (parents would have none of it), but of those I can remember, some of the Mopars were flat out scary. A particular Road Runner and a Dodge Coronet come to mind. Guys who owned those lucky to be alive. Neighbor next to me now has a 69 Dodge Dart and is restoring a 52' pickup.

Yes, my 1950 Meadowbrook does still have the flathead 230 six with Fluid-Drive. We've had the car 10 years or so and it's been the most cost efficient vehicle that we've ever had. Low cost insurance, No license renewal as long as I own it, solid and dependable. It will fit 8 or more comfortably when going to the drive -in (although I mean my size not average obese Americans)

The sharp black 68’ Charger with illuminated tail lights is an Internet photo. Wish it were mine. I always dreamed of owning one. The Dukes of Hazard show & Steve McQueen’s Bullet movie really popularized the second generation (1968-1970)Chargers.
I grew up in mopars. Parents had several; 65’ Coronet 440 station wagon, Polara, Belvedere, Power Wagon. Just love seeing the 1960-70s era’s Barracudas, Challengers, Coronets, Chargers, SuperBees, GTXs, RoadRunners, etc... ![]() Anybody own a push-button automatic? ![]() Edited by AC7060IL - 17 Oct 2020 at 2:17pm |

My uncle had a Dodge that had the push button tranny. He'd go backwards a little and then slam the button into drive and slam on the gas pedal.
I had a 1965 Plymouth Fury III Sedan Commando (Blue) with the 426 wedge engine, 4-speed manual tranny 365 horse. Wish I had it again. It would scream! |

This is my first car, 1974 Road Runner. I bought it in the summer of 1980, yup that's me, I know just way too cool. My mom took the picture just after I bought it.
And I still have it, it is in the shed waiting on some work. Life sure does get in the way of playing with your toys sometimes. ![]() I bought this Road runner in about 1985 or 86. Got it because I wanted a pistol grip 4 speed car. Didn't drive it much as I went in the Navy shortly after. About 10 years ago I decided to get it running and had to redo the motor(knocking). It is all original paint except I painted the engine compartment because it looked sad next to the nice clean motor. They were asking $800 for it, I gave $650, no way was it worth $800. I drive it every now and then. ![]() It has the original motor and trans, factory A/C car, I did add factory cruise control though. My last duty station in the Navy was in northern CA. I used to go over to Sacramento to the u pull it junk yards and grab parts. This was setting on a flatbed ready to go in and I asked about buying it. Cost me $535, this was about 1990 I think. It is a 1966 dodge charger, loaded, PS, PB,A/C, PW. I was able to get a clear title as it hadn't been bought by the yard yet, still has the black California plates. It is another project I will get to soon. I am so thankful my parents allowed me to put my old junk cars on their place until I was able to get my own shed to store them in.

![]() 2020 Gladiator. At less than 600 miles engine light came on. Computer code P0300 with random cylinder misfires. After 33 days in the service shop, Jeep Engineers couldn't find problem, so they reset the Engine Light and returned the vehicle to me. Jeep Customer Cares Retention Specialist would not offer replacement vehicle or refund, while the Engine light is off. Today I filed a claim under Ohio Lemon Law.

Sorry to hear about your luck Dale on the Jeep, looks like a nice one. I have had several older jeeps and have had close to 200k and all without any major issues. I still have an ‘04 with 170k and drive daily, only a battery and tires so far!
