Had the iPad and thought to take a picture. This is some third cutting on a field owned by cemetery. We drive through the grave yard to get to it.

Nice looking equipment Mike. Looks like you use a liquid additive. Does that work well?

Hi Robbie thanks. So after I got hurt an was thinking of how I could still bale hay. I sold the new holland 315 and the cows I had at the time and bought a brand new baler with every option to make it so you could operate from tractor. And I originally wanted the harvest tech set up becouse of the moisture testing on the fly. And ended up going with the fully automatic system. Becouse I can't get out and feel the hay. It works good. It's a learning thing. Like doing 2nd cut with it being thin if you get a wet spot the sensors are under the knotters and it sprays in the packing forks so there's a big difference in space. So you ether choose to go around that spot or spray some manually when you learn what part of field is needing it. Oh and it also will spray red food dye on the HI moisture spots of bale, and on the screen in tractor shows how many strokes per bale and what the moisture of each bale.
This past year I put a hyd ram on the curtain side of the rake so I could lift it for road or gates. I should get a better picture.

Nice set up Mike. I have pressed a lot of small bales with NH balers over the years, they do a great job.

Mike, I cant tell you enough how proud I am of you for not letting your disability stop you from enjoying your love of farming. You have to have great family support and hats off to all that help you to continue your love of farming.
With that being said, thank you for the explanation of your baler. NH has made some great balers and used high tech to make quality hay. There are a lot of farmers using the powder version locally, so your setup is the first that I have seen. We actually bought a used unit but have yet to retrofit our NH273 to accept it. A little different on the older baler as the sweep comes completely across the intake chamber. Haven’t figured out how the 2 hoses will be able to be installed. Hope to study that over the winter as we could have used it 2 weeks ago.

Friend of mine made a plate that hangs out over the pickup head with the sprayers in it. So it sprays the hay going into baler

Mike,
That is really good looking load of hay! Your doing a good job using the technology available to make a quality product. How many bales do you make per year?
Good pictures!

 Chris
