PS.. on "now what?" I took my D17 under the direction of Dr Allis to Allan Reed in Indianola Iowa. It had a leaky rear main and needed other tune ups. Allan is a great guy and knows his stuff. He got Dr. Allis started. Anyway Allan gave my 17 a going over. I found out I have a full flow oil system on my 17 and he put in new main engine bearings, new rear engine seal, new foot clutch, adjusted the hand clutch, worked on the power steering (it is so so much better) and put on a new exhaust manifold. He is fun to talk to. I recommend him. He was an Allis dealer for years and an old time mechanic. He said when he started in the AC business they fixed everything like overhauling generators, overhaul kits in water pumps and fixed hydraulic cylinders, etc right at the dealership. Thanks Dr. All is for recomending him!.
