Picked up a much needed forklift. Tag says, Series 600. A couple questions for the experts.
1. Where is the serial number on a 600 forklift? 2. Were the engines red, or is this a farm tractor repower/ 3. The motor stamp reads 15-4744-T. What does that make it. I know the 15 makes it a D15, but what about the T? Thanks for the help. Hasen't run in a few years. I ran it enough to get to the shop, but there is so much rust in the tank that I had to blow out the fuel line every 20 feet or so. It need a few thing to make it good. Starters is going to be a new fuel tank and a carb rebuild. Oh, and then some manuals so I can learn what some of the features are. LOL, Thanks, Old

With some paint stripper, I found the machine number. 600 1547FL. 600 is the series and 1547 puts it as a first year, 1966. And FL is forklift, I would imagine.
I think the engine is from a farm tractor also, as I see most of the other 600's on the net have yellow engines. Thanks, Old

When I worked in the salvage yard everything got painted the manufacturers main color. Got bitched at because I painted an 8N block red instead of Ford blue. If it was Allis it was orange. Didn't matter if it was industrial

I have an I600 forklift, the older style with rounded sheet metal instead of the flat, angular like yours. My dad bought it new in the 60’s, it’s all original yellow.

From what I find on the innerweb, the motor is a 1961 D15.
