I bought a new coolant gauge and sending unit for the 200. Not really sure how to wire it up. Old gauge had two terminals + and -. New one has three terminals one marked 12v and the other ones negative. When I hook up the hot wire from the fuse to the gauge at the 12v post something pops in the switch and I lose power to the fuse. Not sure what’s going on but the main question is how to hook up the new gauge.

12 volt from the switch ign. terminal. The minus to the sending unit. Should only have power with switch on.
If it pops at the switch there is a short somewhere.

The third connection is to go to a ground. It is DIFFERENT than the original design.
